Semele's History Part II

Isis ordered a bath drawn, in her rooms. Hot water was poured into a large pool. The servants poured fragrant oils into the water and rose petals as well with bowls of candles. The atrium ajoined to Semele's room became a fragrant heaven. Isis washed off the blood from Semele's face and handed the coat and nightgown to a servant, to throw it away. Isis washed her herself and watched her as she did. Semele made no movement, she seemed to be staring at nothing, her eyes were blank and seemed far away.
                           "What are you thinking about?", she asked quietly.
                           " Nothing", she mumbled.
                           " I know this is hard, but you have to accept it. Things will turn out alright in the end, I am sure of it. It just might come out differently than you expected."
         Semele suddenly turned to her, " You have the Sight, don't you?"
      Isis hesitated, "Yes, but I can't see everything. Just small hints of what is to come. I do not see past, present, and future as you do."
               " No....... you don't."
                " I don't understand, small Lady, you knew it was going to happen and yet you act as if something tragic has happened. There's no point in going on and being sad about it."
              " No, but that doesn't change the fact that it is sad. My family is still up there fighting for me. And I am here being useless. I should be the one fighting....... She was so angry, filled with hatred,pain, and loneliness. She was afraid." she suddenly seemed to be speaking to no one.
                           " Who Lady?"
                           " Eris",
Isis helped her out of the bath, and after drying her, dressed her in egyptian clothing. A long white dress with a transparent gauze  that covered her arms and fell to the floor. She placed a wide lapis necklace with gold, gold bracelets on her wrists, and the traditional gold cobra headress. Taking a small ankh she threaded it into the necklace around Semele's neck.
                " For protection", she said
She then painted on her make-up, paiting on the cat slit, with black kohl.
" There you're ready."
Semele looked at herself in the mirror. " I look so different, but yet the same. No one will believe that I am egyptian, I have such pale skin."
             " That will change quickly.", the goddess answered. " It is time to meet your new family,  now follow me and keep close."
Isis walked quickly down various marble corridors, hieroglyphs on almost every wall. Finally she stopped at a huge doorway, through it Semele could see a small pool that resembled a pond.
     " Now small Lady it is time for you to go," Isis's eyes filled with tears, and she pulled her into a hug. She held her for a moment then let go and looked her in the eyes.              
      " Now my dear, you must jump into the pool, once you hit the bottom swim back to the surface as hard and fast as you can, alright?."
            Semele nodded then smiled, " thank you."
Isis smiled, " Go, I will be watching you always, if you need me simply call my name and I will come to you wherever you are."
         With a final smile, Semele turned and jumped into the pool. It was cold and dark. She kept sinking, there seemed to be no bottom. Then before she could begin to panic she felt her feet touch the bottom. She pushed and immediately began swimming back to the surface. Just as before it seemed endless, and she felt she would never find the surface. And then she burst throught surface, gasping for air. She coughed the water out of her lungs and then noticed it. Her surroundings were different. Gauze curtains surrounded the pool, there were four large pillars, two on each side, and lily pads were almost everywhere.
        " You!!! What do you think you are doing?!! Get out! NOW!!."
Semele turned to see a beautiful egyptian girl, with long black hair and dressed richly, standing on the marble steps at the waters edge glaring at her.
